Show Class Officers Lorenzo Richards ..................................................................................................President. The professor leaned back in his big arm chair and ran his fingers through his thick hair, as he reluctantly consented to allow the Sophomore boys to give an ice cream sale. Ren Richards, who stood awaiting the decision, with a smile of satisfaction prepared to leave, but it wasn't all over with! yet. "It seems to me," spoke up Mrs. Kunz, the registrar, "that you think more of these money-making schemes than you do of anything else; why you're a regular 'Mormon Jew,' and she nodded her head vigorously as if to emphasize her remarks. Ren turned up his nose, but said nothing. "Well, let me tell you one thing," continued Principal Henderson; "don't let me! catch you selling ice cream between classes.'"! "Certainly not;" and with this Richards! bowed and left the office. So the boys bought the ice cream, erected! a stand and took turns'' selling to the students who flocked eagerly around. All went well until one lad (whose name is withheld by special request) became too gay and, against all instructions, deliberately transacted business during class hours. Two girls came holding J their bright, shining nickels out to him and he could not resist the temptation OF getting that extra ten cents. It happened only once though, because he got! caught-that's not all-but maybe we don't know what else happened, and maybe if WE did we WOULD NOT tell, because every- body shouldn't tell everything they know, anyway. "Nuff said;" the Sophomores had the monopoly on ice cream. Revenge How we laughed with all our might When we learned to our delight. From the Juniors and the Seniors, That their banners had been swiped. But we all regret the day That we dared to so display Our rejoicing in their sorrow, For our own did disappear, (Where it went to's very clear). So, alas! it's gone forever, And we'll see it never, never. Vain Regrets! |
