Show Ye Shut-Eye Palace Mrs. Emil and "Pop" do the "Sleepery" run Where snores rend the air from the dusk till the sun. Only daintysome skirts make this their abode Yet their "sugary" breaths do the bedposts carrode. Dumb plucks for miles are in sorrysome plight They try but they cannot sleep half of the night. Even snail girls should got rid of large adenoids! Sometimes just small things cause the greatest of noise! Then, too, inhumane are these desipient dolls. They're death on all beasts that at night creep or crawl. When tabbies are hunting a little for love, Shoes and old corsets from winders are huv. No torn cat durst yell from the top of a fence For these baneful beezarks will pelt him far hence. After one screech, mariah is full of remorse A shoe smacks down firmly his "esprit d'corps." So goes what is known as the "dormy" life Round after round of pillowy strife. When I think of the fun those zanies derive, I could take down my hair and have a good cry. |
