Show Lily Vastha Owens Moseley On Sunday, January 15, 2006, Lily Vastha Owens Moseley of Layton, UT passed from death to life in Mesa, AZ. She was born January 13, 1936 in Crescent, Oklahoma to the late Elder ee Halsie B. and _ Mother Virneda iroy Owens. They later moved to Ogden and she@ attended Weber state University and received a teaching — certificate. On April 17, 1955, she married Lafayette Moseley, to this union was born four children, Guy, Marvel, Debbie and Debrah. They were later divorced. she worked for the Ogden Community Action Agency as a Head Start teacher for 22 years until her retirement in 1996. She was one of the founding members of the Lincoln Avenue/Finley Temple Church of God in Christ and was-a faithful member until her declining heaith prevented her attending. she served in over the years. ory, various positions she leaves to cherish her memher devoted daughters: De- brah (Ray) Thompson, Debbie Moseley; all of Layton, UT. Two sisters: Vivian (Jack) Brown, Ogden, UT; and Oretha (Frank) Brooks, Chandler, AZ. Fourteen grandchildren, three Godchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children; Guy and Marvel Moseley, her parents, Halsie and Virneda Owens, two sisters, Evelyn Harris and Shirley Ford, two brothers, Romaine and Halsie, Sonny Owens and one grandson; LaPries Carpenter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Griffin Memorial Church of God in Christ, 2424 E, Avenue, Ogden, with Elder Henry McAllister, Officiating. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
