Show 36 The Acorn 1. We've the green of Ireland's Shamrock, We've the white of Utah's snows, We're the good old Freshman students, We're the best, the whole school knows. 2. It matters not where we're assembled Or how many are our foes, For we're the good old Freshman students, We're the best, the whole school knows. 3. When we're out playing basket-ball, Ouch, that's a Senior's toes, For we're the good old Freshman students, We're the best, the whole school knows. 4. We must all press boldly onward, We must guard off all the blows, For we're the good old Freshman students, We're the best, the whole school knows. "Most all of us know there's some in this School Who think they are man or all But the school, as a rule, thinks there are a few Who are making disturbance anew." One night that has passed, we see that a few Went out for some trouble to brew. They found it at last the few whom we call The thieves and the robbers of School. From the Seniors and Freshies deserters they be; To our cakes and our lunches they rushed in their glee! They ate and they wasted as gluttons best dare, For their wisdom's like castles that's built in the air. So after such trouble they came to make right, To the Juniors whom they had offended that night They said they'd make right for the luncheon and cake, But nothing like this the Juniors would take. The Juniors so little, they never would be To take money or pay from robbers you see, We'd rather pass verdict of guilty today, And make right the lost in some other way. "Our Class is for peace or else is for war," But never a Class will we ever debar, If the others want war we're there at the door, And we'll give them the best that we have and no more.
