Show INTENSIVE COURSE IN COMMERCIAL TRAINING Students desiring to receive intensive training in accounting, office machines, shorthand, typewriting, and other business subjects may do so These students may gain proficiency in their concentrated field in a shorter period of time without meeting ariy definite curriculum. COMMERCIAL ART This commercial art course is designed for students who desire to enter the field of commercial art work. Training is offered In illustrating, advertising, cartooning, packaging, designing, poster work, and decoration'. Students may elect a field of specialization in the second year. All media are used in the training program which are found iri modern, practices. Two years of specialized training are offered, and students enter industry on an advanced apprentice level. Laboratory -3 hours daily Trade Technical 1 hour daily Trade Related and Electives 2 hours daily HOMEMAKING This homemaking course is designed for young women who desire a practical course in homemaking so that they may become qualified to manage their own home. Students selected will be instructed in the care and operation, and methods of production required by the garment industries of Ogden. The successful completion of the work will qualify students to enter the garment-making industry. The training period for the work is approximately three months. Laboratory Practice and Trade Technical 4 hours daily RAILROAD TELEGRAPHY This course in telegraphy is designed to train telegraphers for the local railroads. Instruction will be given iri sending and receiving Morse Code, using standard railroad equipment. The training period for the work is approximately six months. Shop Practice and Related Technical 3 hours daily AUTO BODY RECONDITIONING This course in auto body reconditioning is designed to provide adequate training and experience in all phases of metal finishing and metal preparation, including paint work, in order to produce a competent apprentice. One year of specialized pre-apprenticeship training is given. Shop Practice _ 4 hours daily Trade Technical _ 1 hour daily Trade Related and Electives _ 1 hour daily AUTO SERVICE AND REPAIR This course in auto service and repair offers training in the elementary and advanced phases of the auto service work including special units in motor tuning-up, auto electrics, heavy duty automotive equipment, and advanced motor work. The course aims to develop competent automobile repair apprentices. Two years of specialized pre-apprenticeship training are offered.
