Show Business Week The week of Feb. 22-27 was designated as Business Week with the theme of "Pioneering in Business," sponsored by the School of Business and Economics and the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. Activities began Wednesday at 9 a.m. when Carol McCormick, a tax manager with Arthur Young in Salt Lake City, spoke on "Pioneering Within a Firm" in the UB Little Theatre. On Thursday, Ogden Mayor A. Stephen Dirks and Charles Lindquist had a panel discussion with Dr. Gordon Jacox and Dr. Mark Nelson on the pros and cons of the past, present, and future of the Ogden City business community. The Thursday convocation at noon in the Val Browning Center Austad Auditorium featured Tommy Buffington on "Pioneering Ideas in Marketing" for the conclusion of Business Week. T. Buff as he was better known, was the marketing and advertising director for Brown Brothers Furniture. "T-Buff" posed with a ran after Convocations. Humanities Week Monday, March 29: Art display - Body work by Susan Makov, March 29 - April 9, Stewart Library. Entertainment - 12:00 noon, UB cafeteria. Tony Spanos lectured on "Careers in Foreign Language." Tuesday, March 30, WSC Debate Team presented a Forensics Showcase at noon in the UB Cafeteria. Dr. Henry B. Eyring, Commissioner of Education for the LDS Church, was the guest speaker at a humanities Forum March 31 at Weber State College. Dr. Eyring addressed the relationship between the humanities and science at the noon lecture which was held in the Allred Theatre of the WSC Browning Center. His speech was presented in connection with Humanities Week, sponsored by; the WSC School of Arts and Humanities. A high school art Scholarship Exhibit was held in conjuntion with Humanities week in the Art Studio Gallery. Health Week A free health screening clinic was held April 1 in the UB Ballroom in conjuction with Health Week '82. The purpose of Health Week was to acquaint people with some of the health benefits they are entitled to. People don't like to think there is something wrong with them, and they avoid seeing a doctor until it is too late. Health Week '82 also helped to make people realize that proper care and check-ups can aid in staying healthy. The screening consisted of free blood pressure, anemia, height weight, visual acuity, hearing, cancer, tuberculosis and other tests, all free of charge. Othetests were also available at a minimal cost. Aside from the various screening tables, there was a variety of exhibits and displays pertaining to health and health care. Information was also supplied about the health services and benefits that are available to people in the area. Specialists from many areas were present to answer questions concerning health.
