The SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE organizes programs and takes care of special events which include homecoming, the U.B. birthday party, and Miss Weber pageant. The ARTS AND CRAFTS COMMITTEE provides workshops and informal instruction in craft skills. Among the special contests under its supervision is the student photography contest. Members are, Front Row: Jan Wilhelmsen, Georgia Powell, Janet Hinchcliff. Second Row: Judy Van Meeteren, Louise Taylor, chairman; Gerald Fowers. Laps: Tom Greenwell, Shauna Hall. The RECREATION COMMITTEE organizes, promotes, and directs leagues, provides instruction and sponsors competition with other union and national groups in the areas bowling, billiards, bridge, ping-pong, checkers, and chess. Members include, Front Row: Janet Reeves, Nancy Wilson, Ryleen Martindale. Second Row: Ted Bourland, chairman; Tom Kiernan, Robert Wright. The EXHIBITS COMMITTEE selects works of students, faculty, and outside sources to be displayed in the Union Building and Fine Arts Center. The selection of permanent art pieces to be enjoyed by students and guests in the future is also the responsibility of this committee. Members are, Front Row. The MUSIC AND TALENT COMMITTEE is responsible for selecting and determining rules for the music listening room, located in the Union Building, selecting talent through open competition which will represent Weber State in intercollegiate talent show competition.
