Show Wrestling The 1964-65 wrestling team suffered through one of the toughest schedules in the intermountain area. Against the major competition they won three matches while losing thirteen. Youth was a major deterrent here also. In the Big Sky meet, Monty Hadden was the only member to finish better than third. He finished second in the 147 pound division. Members of the Soccer Team were, Front Row: Richard Pierson, Dee Phillips, Jim Okroy, Bill Evenhuis. Second Row: Werner Thaller, Allie Haghageghi, Ben Vasquez. Back Row: Frank Noel, Dave Scovell, Gerald Brown, Steve Sorenson, Charles Rhoades, Bruce McGill. Soccer The first Weber State College Soccer Club was formed this year to compete with other university and city teams of the area. The officers are Werner Thaller, president, Dave Scovell, vice president, Gerald Brown, secretary and treasurer. Howling Weber State Bowlers placed very well in the regional tournament held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There were twenty-four men's teams and thirteen women's teams competing. Big Jim Spires paced the male keglers as he finished eighth in all-event and led the WSC team to second place in the team event. Jim was an alternate for the finals in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joy Mower and Alene Perry took first place in the women's doubles. Joy qualified for the finals with a fourth place in the all-event.
