Show Weber Picks Principal— For Junior High School | A 13-year veteran in the We-, ber School District, J. Ray Jarrett, principal of the Washing~ ton Terrace Elementary School, has been appointed principal of the Wahlquist Junior High School. The appointment was announced today by Dr. William R. Boren, superintendent of the Weber District. Mr. Jarrett replaces Dr. “ Spen‘ cer Wyatt, who has taken a position with the State Department of Public Instruction. - Dr. Boren also announced five other changes in administrative posts in Weber County schools, effective immediately. The new Wahlquist Junior High principal, Mr. Jarrett, went to the Washington Terrace post in the fall of 1962 from his dual position as assistant merit study director and director of vocational education for the district. _ He began his career with the Weber District when he became industrial arts teacher at Souta Junior High in 1950. A native of Nephi he took a master’s degree in education at Utah State ‘University in Lo- gan. He has served as president | of the Weber Education Associa-. tion. | MORGAN NATIVE Mr. Littlefield, a native of | Morgan, first taught at the Ar- senal Villa Elementary School (now Municipal) and then went to Hooper. He received his education at Weber College and Utah State University. Mr. Allen, a native of Hooper, taught at Roy before becoming principal at the Hooper Elementary School. He attended the University of Utah. C. Merlyn Hansen, born in Sanpete County, taught four years in other districts, including Uintah, before coming to vee Weber ae in 1948. native of Uintah, and has been assistant principal at Burch Creek. He attended Utah State University in Logan. Lincoln Sorenson, born in Salt Lake City, has attended Brigham Young University and University of Utah. He entered Weber District employ first with the Washington Terrace Elementary, then moved over. to the counseling staff for theWeber District. |
