q WANGSGARD Early this year a group of students interested in modern methods of distribution and who were ardent admirers of Lincoln and Douglas met at a tryout held to choose this years league debating team. Those who were chosen were the three veteran seniors, Mary Deru, Gay Wangsgard and Bob Jones, a very promising junior, Woodruff Deem and, to make the list complete, a sophomore, Leonard Christiansen. The question for this year’s state league debates was “Resolved that chain stores are detrimental to the best interests of the American public.” Two practice debates were held with West High School besides others with Davis and Box Elder High Schools. This year, Weber met Park City, Morgan, and West High schools in the league debates which were held, April 18. The team has worked hard.
