Show Mn? D.A. R. The competition was keen and the D.A.R. Contest was a close one. Thirteen senior girls, chosen by the popular vote of the senior class vied for top honors. They were the ''brains'' of Weber. They carried armloads of school books for more than the exercise. By hard work and perseverence they climbed to the top. Here were the student and scholastic leaders. The contestants were judged rigidly. They spoke extemporaneously before the group and were questioned individually. They were graded on the basis of poise, personality, knowledge of U.S. and world | | | : : _ y \ ‘ 3 : affairs, . service to community and church, citizen- ship and scholarship. After the examination, they voted among themselves. The result gave the winner. Every girl who competed was worthy of honor. LaRee Beus came out on top and represented Weber in the State Contest at Salt Lake City.
