Monson, Chairman A student majoring in the Division of Humanities should satisfy the general entrance requirements as stated on page 22, and include as prerequisite to all English courses three units of English. It is recommended that a student majoring in this Division who presents for entrance less than the equivalent of twenty-five quarter hours in one foreign language pursue such language in college until he has earned a minimum of twenty-five quarter hours. It is recommended that a student pursuing a major in English Language, Literature, and Speech take particular advantage of the following student activities directed by the Department, and planned as integral parts of its curricular offerings: The Acorn (the College yearbook), Signpost (the student body newspaper), Scribulus (the literary quarterly), debating, extempore and impromptu speaking, oratory, interpretative speech, radio, and play production.
