Show 10) Civic Center Garage An underground parking garage for the city of San Francisco at the Civic Center Plaza in the amount of $3,392,460. We were in a joint venture with Haas-Haynie who sponsored it, and our final revenue for the project was $1,793,445. The cost plus project was started in January of 1959, and completed in December of 960. $41, 000 of anticipated profits were dissipated due to subcontractor claims. 11) Chihuahua Dam The construction of an earthfill dam for flood control and irrigation for the State of Chihuahua, Mexico. The unit price contract was started in March of 1958 and completed in June of 1961. Total cost of the project was $4, 698, 822, and extensive difficulty with contract authority resulted in a loss on this project. Mr. Richard Terry was the Project Manager on this project. 12) Irrigation Canals in Chihuahua, Mexico, for the State of Chihuahua. The cost of this project is included in the above. 13) King's Bridge (King's Street Bridge) This work was done for the County Roads Board of Victoria on King Street by the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia. The high level bridge and elevated carriageway are 2,300 feet in length. The two low level bridges are 420 feet each. Flinder Street over- pass is 600 feet. There are 123 concrete-filled steel cylinder bridge supports, each 5 ft. in diameter, and sunk to an average of 130 ft. below water or ground level, deepest being 180 ft. The cylinders carry the piers on which the girders rest. The girders, which are fabricated from high tensile steel plate specially rolled in Australia for the project, vary in length from 64 ft. to 161 ft. and in weight from 4 tons to 29 tons. On the Flinder Street overpass, precast columns rise from the ground level surmounted by precast crossheads. The girders are of precast prestressed concrete except for steel girders in the three spans over ana adjacent to King Street. Designed under Utah's supervision and guidance, the King's Bridge became the first high-tensile ail-welded steel bridge in Australia. 2, 600 tons of welded plate girders were used in its superstructure, and specialized Benoto machines, imported from France, were employed in the construction of the foundations.
