Description The Farming Artifact category of the Harrisville Virtual History Museum contains farm implements and buildings.
Biographical/Historical Note Old harpoon style hay fork was used to move loose hay from the wagons into the haymow. It attached to a rope trolley at the peak of the barn. The trolley traveled on a track and hay was dropped by the man in the mow. A rope was attached to horses, or in later years, to a tractor to supply the necessary power.
