Description The Farming Artifact category of the Harrisville Virtual History Museum contains farm implements and buildings.
Biographical/Historical Note William (Bill) H. Shurtleff (1916-2011) built this barn in 1960 as a replacement for a barn built in the early 1900s which burned down due to an incident with children and matches. Bill preserved many relics from his youth growing up on the farm which his family occupied from the time of the original settlement of Harrisville. Bill shared this barn with the community. Parties, socials, and even weddings were enjoyed in this country setting.
