Show MORGAN PIONEER HISTORY BINDS US TOGETHER Morgan pioneer history binds us together. The purpose of this book is to provide a history for identifying our earlier settlers who were in the state of Utah and Morgan Valley prior to 1869. It covers some of the traumatic events as well as some of the happy and exotic experiences that happened during the hardships of our ancestors' lives. Eventually every genealogist will want to share the stories of his ancestors with the other family members and pioneer ancestry. This book contains the stories of people's lives. The days, months and years that were experienced by our pioneer ancestors of Morgan County will live long in the memories of the families of those people who sacrificed their lives for us to be here. This is also written to let people know that Morgan was an important place to live. It is important to learn that people inhabited the farming area, that crops were raised, that school was taught, and that the Union Pacific Railroad was routed through Morgan. Many have left a great legend for all of us to follow them in spirituality. The untouched pebbles that surrounded the homes of the farmers and railroad hands are silent from the footsteps once heard by the feet that trod to and from their work, leaving nothing but cherished memories to all, and wonderment to all who read this book. All of these memorable experiences have motivated our desire to write about a few of the things that transpired in their lives. It is about friends, neighbors and families who were concerned about each other, neighbors who shared their trials, their misfortunes, as well as their happiness and unfaltering loyalty and support of each other. We hope that our friends, neighbors and family members will gain a feeling of appreciation of what our pioneers had to live and go through. - Margo Rose Wilde |
