After graduation, Roy worked for awhile in the oil fields of Texas and Oklahoma, but tiring of manual exertion and rough company, set out to see the world with one trusty friend only slightly younger than himself. His frend was named Henry, and was manufactured in Detroit, Michigan, by a rather well known gentleman named Ford. Roy and Henry visited all the towns along the border of Texas and mexico, then went to California via New Mexico and Arizona. After traveling throughout the western part of the country from Oregon to Mexico, Roy stopped in Ogden, Utah and registered at Weber College. "Higher education is what I crave," said Roy.
