Show 21 ACORN The Choir The choir is one organization to which much credit is due. The beautiful music while they give every morning turns our thoughts to higher things and really prepares us for the spirit of devotion. The choir this year is composed of about one hundred and fifty students, and is one of the best choirs we have ever had at Weber. Much credit is due our able leader, Professor Ballantyne, who spends a great deal of his valuable time training them. We wish them well and hope their efforts will be crowned with success. The Home Economic's Club On Thursday last the Home Economic's Club met with Miss Clare Parish, from the extension division of the U. A. C. She seemed pleased to find us so well organized and ready for work. The work we will take up after the holidays will be very interesting, as it deals with the home entirely. She promised us interesting speakers for our future meetings. The program which was arranged for our entertainment on the third of December, was both educational and entertaining. It was as follows: Violin Solo Mary Fisher. Quartet From Junior Class. Piano Duet Henry and Horace Watkins. Violin Solo Marcelus Smith. Reading Mrs. Georgia Johnson. Piano Solo Josephine Volker. Duet Bros. Manning and Dixon. ATHLETICS We have outlined three schedules to be played between the various classes. One set of games has already been played in which the Seniors won, 3, lost 0; Juniors won 2, lost 1; Sophomores won 1, lost 2; Freshmen won 0, lost 3. In the second schedule which is being played, none of the school team men are allowed to play. This gives all classes a fair chance. The Sophs, are showing up well, the Freshies are leading in the schedule, but the Seniors can't be beaten. This movement will build up teams for the future and give the men experience in the game which will mean a championship school, team in the future. Although we have lost two games already we excuse ourselves for them and expect future victories on every side, especially in the High School league. We have V. Critchlow, Ray Bassett, E. Nixon, E. Wilkinson, L. Brewer, W. Roberts, R. King and C. Critchlow on our squad this year. These men make a very promising bunch. On Thursday morning, December 2, we held a basketball rally to awaken Students Body spirit. During the assembly we heard some lively speeches by Pardoe, Barker, Dixon and Cordon. Coach Watson officiated. On December 3, our team traveled up to Preston, Idaho, and played the Oneida Stake Academy, and the following night journeyed to Logan and played the B. Y. C. The line-up of these games are as follows: Weber 20 Oneida 44. V.
