Show 17 ACORN the students are looking forward to the time when another similar celebration will be had. Senior enthusiasm With unbounded enthusiasm the Class of '16 have began their final flight in pursuing their stellar course. Already their radiant light has overwhelmed the feeble glimmer of the Juniors, the sparkle of the Sophomores, and the twinkle of the Freshmen. The first council held for the purpose of directing their brilliant efforts was crowned with a halo of success and they sustained the following high lights: President Leland Brewer. Vice President Eva Browning. Darrel Clark. Athletic Manager Reuel King. Class Reporter Bernice Hill Yell Master Glendon Cordon. The first glee hop was under the direction of this illustrious class and was held on Hallowe'en night. Numerous events for the purpose of amusing their guests were brilliantly executed. The class wish to extend to the other classes the best wish possible, namely: that they may retain a glimmer of the unsurpassed brilliance of their elder classmates. Juniors' Notes As Thanksgiving approaches every student is planning a good time. The Juniors, of course, have had this in mind and all the members of the class are preparing for it when a most excellent class party will be given for their entertainment. The class recently participated in a night journey to the hills, where a tempting supper was cooked over a large bonfire. Besides keeping their good time to themselves they are planning to give the public something that will arouse interest, not only in the class, but in the whole school. So, Seniors, Sophs and Freshies keep your eyes and ears alert for the great day. Happily we have had great days preceding the present ones. In the early part of October inter-class contests were held in which the Juniors and Seniors, and the Sophomores and Freshmen, contested with each other. The Juniors lost in the tug-of-war, but they were glad, for it made them stronger to win in the water fight and the serving of the lunch. A short time before these contests took place, Carl Critchlow and Frank Parry, defeated in tennis the players from Ogdeh High School. We are proud of their work and hope they will keep it up. ACORN 18 We are sorry to say that Clara Brough was injured a short time ago while at school and has been absent since the accident. Hut in spite of her injuries, Miss Brough has been cheerful all the while. In closing the Juniors wish all a cheerful Thanksgiving and hope they will have happy anticipations of a turkey and cranberry dinner. Sophomore Notes The Sophomore class is again gaining recognition among the rest of the school and the Faculty. They have held several meetings and also organized a Glee Club which promises to be a fine thing. During the week the Sophomores entertained in devotional a lively time was had. They gave a well arranged program each morning during the week, which would be hard to beat by any of the other classes. Our Class officers are: President Andrew Kasius. Vice President Mary Campbell. Freshmen Notes Although we are new arrivals we are showing the school that we contemplate carrying away some of the honors in the class contests. A Mistake I stood upon the mountain, I looked down upon the plain, I saw a lot of green stuff That looked like waving grain. I took another look at it, I thought it might be grass. But lo! to my horror, It was the Freshman class. |
