Show Sunday, April 6, 1930 96th Day 269 Days to come Salt Lake City 100 Conference of L.D.S. church Dr and I had breakfast at the Hotel Utah where we stayed all night. We went up to Orens and listened in to conference over radio as none put the priesthood were admitted to the tabernacle & then only by ticket. President Grants adress was wonderful Anthony W. Ivans spoke A very large crowd in Salt Lake Dr & I had a nice chicken dinner with Oren & Mae Listened over radio this afternoon as we could not get a seat in the tabernacle We drove home tonight Monday, April 7, 1930 97th Day 268 Days to come 100 Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ L.D.S. I have listened over radio alone all day to the conference held in Salt Lake City Sylvester L Cannon was the first speaker. A good fruit comes from a good tree Death rate of church members 7 to 1000 and 1/3 less than the rate of U.S. a wonderful sermon 2nd Golden Kimball active in the church. 47 yr. 3rd Chapter of Book Nephi Joseph F. Smith Geo F. Richards who spoke on personality of God, baptism etc. Rulon S. Wells who said There can be no salvation in compelled obedience. David O. McKay. 1 chapter of John I will show you the way but you must put forth effort. The first message by Christ. He gave a wonderful sermon. David A Smith Chairman of the pagent spoke mainly on the Word of Wisdom which was given by Joseph the prophet three years after the church was organized |
