Show The influx of construction workers and defense facilities had a significant impact on the rustic north. American ingenuity also came into play as personnel installed water supply and sanitation systems, put up warehouses and stores, and built hospitals and broadcasting stations. During the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s, Utah Construction participated in the post-war boom, including the Critical Housing Project necessitated by returning military personnel and their families. During 1953, for instance, in association with Henry C. Beck Company, "Utah" built over 1,000 single-family dwellings in Wichita, Kansas. |
