Show Mar. 3, 1936 Senior Girls Win Oratorical Contest Two seniors of Ogden High school —Miss Marjorie Hatch and Miss Betty Jeanne Neil — were winners of first and second place, respectively, in the annual oratorical contest conducted by the Golden Spike chapter, Daughters of American Revolution. The first prize is a D.A.R. medal and the second a D.A.R. spoon. The awards will be made at annual High school award day late in May, school officials said. Miss Hatch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Hatch, 968 Twenty- eighth street, spoke on "Mothers of Our Nation". The subject chosen by Miss Neil was "Loyalty to Oneself". She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Neil, 1153 Twenty- eighth street. Others who competed in the event —all juniors of Ogden High — include Miss Inez Hatch, Miss Alice Odell, Miss Arlene Olson, and Miss Inez Sessions. |
