Few people realized the time, thought and work that went into that oration. Words to move people into action must be stirring. So the orators worked and practiced until finally it was a polished and finished speech. | t .aM EXTEMP i “We'll have your speech in five minutes."' That is exactly what extemporaneous speaking in Speech Two was. They gave the speaker any subject and in five minutes a speech was to be given. It took lots of reading on current subjects and taught them to think on their feet. i Speakers in extemp were Read Jones, Janet Larsen, Kenton Barker, Janet Painter, Gary Blodgett and nape ee Saas Read Jones 168 gives an ‘off the cuff'' speech as the rest of the extemporaneous speakers listen.
