Show Intramurals Tommy Lee won the Dual Slalom for the "Skids". ABOVE: Elroy Harris placed second for Beta Theta Pi. RIGHTS: Snow Basin hosted the 2nd annual Dual Slalom Race. In this head to head competition, students raced as long as they won. Mark Plank made it to the Quarter Finals in the Dual Slalom competition. Weber intramuaral sports offered a variety of exciting sports for both men and women. Julian Anitidillo won the Big Buck Contest with a four point deer. Art Hargrove won the Individual Superstars competition with a time of 6:46:00 in the mile run. In the women's weight lifting, Patti Patterson lifted her way to the championship in the 148 pound class. The ski slopes were the sight from some fierce competition. In the modified giant slalom, Michelle Hanson won the women's class and Tommy Lee won the men's division by narrowly beating Arne Eristoy in the quarter-finals. Lee beat out Eristoy by 2/10's of a point. Jeff Stuart won the cross country race. Chad Twitchell won the diving competition for the "Big Wave" team. "The main goal of the Intramural program," said Coach Knight, "is to provide recreational programs for all students, whether they are single, marrried, working or with family responsibilities. We try to have something for everyone." The activities are offered at different times of the day in order to attract more students to the program. Students, faculty and staff may participate in recreational programs as scheduled during each quarter. From weight lifting to Ping-Pong, the Intramurals program had much to offer WSC this year. Coach Knight and Shanie Taylor were partners in the Valentine Fun Run. Brenda Archuleta and Richard Lamb were tied together for the time prediction race.
