Description The Farming Artifact category of the Harrisville Virtual History Museum contains farm implements and buildings.
Biographical/Historical Note Daniel Styles Maxfield (1866-1936) won this bridle in a bar in Wyoming. The handmade bridle was offered as the prize on a punch card lottery. The horse-hair bridle was made by an inmate of the Wyoming Territorial Prison which was built as a federal prison (1872-1910), and later became Wyoming's State penitentiary (1910-1930). The original bit on the bridle became unusable and was replaced.
