Show 46 WEBER ACADEMY Commercial Law.This course comprises a study of those matters of law that have constant application to business lifecontracts, negotiable instruments, liens, guaranty and suretyship, interest and usury, sale of personal and real property, warranty, bailment, agency, partnership, joint stock companies and corporations, insurance, common carriers, attachment, stoppage in transit, real estate, banking, taxes, distribution after death, property rights, etc. Five hours per week during the first semester. Political Economy.This course consists in a study of the underlying principles governing production, consumption, exchange and distribution of wealth. The relation of capital and labor and other present-day economic problems are discussed with some emphasis upon industrial and political ethics. Bullock's Introduction to the Study of Economics is used as a text book, with supplementary readings from other standard authors. Five hours per week during the second semester. Farm Accounting.This course enables the student to keep an accurate account of costs, expenditures, income, profits, etc., of all branches or departments of farm life, and to determine at any time the exact financial condition of the orchard, dairy, field, household, etc. The method has been devised by Prof. Bexel, former professor of accounting at the Utah Ag-ricultural College, is comprehensive, yet not too technical, and fills a long-felt want among agriculturists. Domestic Arts a.Models dealing with the fundamental work for sewing, including the various stitches and their application are made during this course. Three two-hour periods per week during the first semester. Domestic Arts b.The work of this course is concerned with the care of the sewing machine, and with the making of underclothes. Three two-hour periods per week during the second semester. Domestic Arts c.The making of dressing sacques and shirt waists and the hemming and monograming of table linen comprises the work of the course. Two three-hour periods per week during the first semester. Domestic Arts d.This course teaches drafting and the making of fine lingerie and summer dresses. Two three-hour periods per wek during the second semester. Domestic Arts e.Drafting and advanced dressmaking, including winter dresses and tailor-made suits is the work of the course. Two three-hour periods per week the first semester. Domestic Arts f.First steps in fancy work, including drawn work and Battenburg lace are given in this course. Two two-hour periods per week during the second semester. Domestic Arts g.Mountmelick, eyelet and French embroidery and Tenneriff lace are worked in this course. Two two-hour periods per week during the first semester. Domestic Arts h.The making of Kensington embroidery and point lace is the work of the course.
