Show 50 WEBER COLLEGE WEBER COLLEGE 51 PHYSICAL EDUCATION Reed Knute Swenson Lucile Owen Clark Carl Farnsworth Belliston It is recommended that a student pursuing a major in Physical Education complete Physiology 1, Bacteriology 1, Psychology 1, Home Economics 6, and seven hours of Physical Education including Swimming. Requirements for all students. 1. A medical examination by the school physician is required of all students upon their initial entrance at Weber College. 2. Four hours of Physical Education are required of all students during their freshman year, which should include: Physical Education 40 2 quarter hours Selected activities from the following: Physical Education 1, 11, 6, 16, 21 2 quarter hours Swimming is recommended for all students. Two activities are to be selected for each quarter that students enroll in Physical Education 1 or 11. Activities may not be repeated during the freshman year. Completion of freshman requirements must be made before Advanced Physical Education can be taken. Physical Education Activity Classes for Men 1. Elementary Activities. Volley Ball Autumn, Winter Private Instruction Courses The following subjects are given in private lessons only. Special fees are charged for private instruction. 40. Piano. A minimum of six hours of practice a week for one lesson, and twelve hours a week for two lessons. One quarter hour credit for one lesson a week and two quarter hours of credit for two lessons a week. Time to be arranged. C. Anderson 41. Violin, Cello. A minimum of eight hours of practice a week for one lesson. One quarter hour. Fifteen hours of practice for two lessons a week. Two quarter hours. Time to be arranged. 42. Brass Instruments. A general orientation course in college objectives, study techniques, personality analysis, adjustments, aptitude testing, vocational and college guidance. Required of freshmen students. Application of Ethics theory is made to social institutions and problems. Five quarter hours. Autumn, Spring. Neville 5. Logic.
