A survey of the field of soils designed as a foundation course for students in Agriculture and Forestry. Four quarter hours. Autumn. D. Anderson 2. Forage and Miscellaneous Crops. A study of the production of common forage crops and the principles of crop production. Three quarter hours. Spring. D. Anderson 3. Animal Husbandry. A survey of Animal Husbandry emphasizing breeds and breed types, judging and selection of cattle, sheep, and horses. Three quarter hours. Winter. D. Anderson ANATOMY William Monroe McKay 1. Elementary Human Anatomy. A treatment of gross and microscopic structures of the human body as prerequisite to technical course. Two lectures and one laboratory period a week. Three quarter hours. (For nurses). Winter. McKay BACTERIOLOGY Dean Albert Anderson It is recommended that a student pursuing a major in Bacteriology complete Bacteriology 1 and 3, Physiology 1, and Botany 1. 1. General Bacteriology. A course devoted to fundamental facts of bacteriology and applications of industrial, economic, and sanitary importance. Three lectures a week. Three quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. D. Anderson la. Laboratory Course in General Bacteriology. Credit will not be allowed unless taken with course 1. Two laboratory periods a week. Two quarter hours. Autumn, Winter, Spring. D. Anderson 2. Micro-organisms. A study of the fundamental characteristics and habits of micro-organisms, both pathogenic and non-pathogenic. Demonstrations stressing the public health point of view are made to establish an understanding of the necessity for surgical asepsis. Three lecture periods and two laboratory periods a week.
