Aircraft Structure. Training in the construction and repair of component aircraft parts, including wood, steel, and aluminum parts; also the fabrication and installation. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 52. Aircraft Fabric Dye and Paint. Training in the cutting, sewing, and covering of aircraft, and component parts. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 53. Aircraft Service and Maintenance. Training in the maintenance, operation, and repair of light aircraft and equipment. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 54. Aircraft Power Plants. Training in the operation and repair of small aircraft engines, including the disassembling, inspecting, reconditioning, and assembling of engine parts. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 55. Aircraft Power Plant Accessories. Training in the inspection, line maintenance, service diagnosis of engine difficulties, testing and servicing of the starter, generator, magneto, carburetors, and other units of the engine. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 56. Aircraft Instruments. Elementary training in the installation, repair, and testing of various instruments found in light aircraft. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff Trade Technical 61. Theory of Flight. A study of the field of aeronautics, including the dynamics of perfect fluids, particles and solids; and general theory of control and stability. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 62. Civil Air Regulations. A course covering the repair of aircraft, and the study of the specification procedures, and method of making repair of light aircraft, including wood, metal, and fabrication parts. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 103 63. Airworthiness of Aircraft. A study of the inspection techniques to determine the airworthiness of aircraft, familiarization with the specification number of material, and various types^ of hardware; also the requirements of aircraft as to balance, rigging, and adjustment. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff 64. Theory of Aircraft and Engine Operation. A study of the various engines used in aircraft; also the four cycle principles, including carburetor, compression, and ignition. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Staff 65. Aircraft Engine Accessories. A study of the design and principles of operation of aircraft accessories, carburetors, fuel inspection systems, lubricating system, magnetos, operator starters, fuel pumps, and hydraulic systems. Five quarter hours. Winter. Staff 66. Construction and Design of Aircraft Instruments. A study of flight instruments and other types of industry instruments, including the purpose, construction, principles of operation, and pertinent Civil Air Regulations covering these instruments. Five quarter hours. Spring. Staff LINK TRAINING PROGRAM The Link Training Program is designed especially for on-the-job trainees desiring a knowledge of instruments and instrument-rating. The skill and information is taught on an individual basis and by appointment. The amount of Link Trainer time allowable will be in keeping with current regulations set up by the Civil Aeronautics Authority and also the Veterans Administration. Two quarter hours.
