A philosophy of management; provides basic information the potential homemaker needs in order to manage her home efficiently such as finances, time and energy, wise buying, etc. Three quarter hours. Designed to assist the college girl in her own personal development. Selection of clothing as to line, color, style; make-up and hair styles; voice and diction; posture and other factors that affect relationships and appearance . Open to all college women. Designed to assist the college girl in selecting and adapting her clothes in terms of campus activities and personal expressiveness. Laboratory in construction of clothing. Three quarter hour. Autumn, Winter, Spring. Mumford 22. Clothing Selection and Construction. Consideration is given to alternation of commercial patterns and techniques of design from basic patterns. A study of family clothing; construction or renovation of articles for some member of the family. Three quarter hours. Spring. Staff 31. Family Health and Nursing Care. This course is designed to give the student an understanding of mother and baby care with experience in handling the baby and developing simple nursing techniques in the family situation. Designed to help unmarried students understand attitudes and relationships in marriage, parenthood, and marital adjustments. Includes a study of the beginning family — the early adjustments, attitudes in pregnancy, prenatal care and development of the infant during the first year of life. Three quarter hours. A practical course open to all college men and women to help develop a philosophy of family living as a desirable background for the child and an understanding of the fundamentals of child growth, development and guidance.
