Show Center Donates $1627 To Disaster Fund OSC is an organization that cares—and the employees have proved this once again through their generous donations to last week’s bake sale in support of the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Managers throughout the Center brought in large quantities of taste home-baked goods for the bake sale—and employees responded with very generous donations in the boxes marked “Disaster Fund.” It was not unusual during the week to see a ten dollar bill or more to be placed in the box in return for a delicious brownie or a piece of carrot cake. Lois Barker, from the American Red Cross Bonneville Chapter, was at the Center this week to receive donations raised by the bake sale. Employees actually expressed their appreciation to managers and the Center for the opportunity to donate to a fund that was used to help so many people during the recent floods and mudslides in Utah. “I wanted to do something to help—but just didn’t know how to go about doing it,” was a common statement made by employees. “I feel real good now about being able to contribute something.” Managers felt good about the favorable response to their “home cooking,” and employees felt good about giving to help others. Chairwoman Lois Smith summed it all up when she said, “It makes me real proud to belong to an organization that cares.” “THAT’S JUST TERRIFIC—We really appreciate your support,” was the delighted response from Lois Barker, Executive Director, as she accepted a check for $1627.71 for the American Red Cross, Bonneville Chapter, from Director Ed Pecorella and Chairwoman Lois Smith. “The Red Cross volunteers were really out and working during the recent disasters in Utah,” said Lois, “and did a super job. This is a nice tribute to them.” A check for $1,627.71 was proudly presented this week to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund on behalf of all employees of the Ogden Service Center. The fund has helped over 4,000 victims of disasters across the country during the past year, almost depleting available funds. Thanks, OSC employees! You came through again when others needed help!
