During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show THURS. MARCH 28, 1918. At home all morning very buisy. This afternoon visited Daughters of Pioneers meeting at Mrs. Theo Evans a good meeting three new members admitted. We are only allowed to buy ten lbs of suger at a time. Only a small unit of flour. Make potato bread corn meal oatmeal etc. FRIDAY 29. A letter to Mary from Junior the first for ten days. Still in NC and getting on fine enjoying his mission very much but tired of bacon & corn bread. Worked at home all morning & all afternoon at RC in bandage room with Acacia Club. Heard through Bro Russell that Oscar is to go to camp Lewis for service. This terriable war is raging fiercely. SAT. MARCH 30, 1918. Have been able to stay home all day as Mrs. Thurman went to RC in my place this AM. Have baked & cleaned house all day Mrs Hadley helped me. Cleone went out to club took part on Programme Losca. Avon went to an Easter party given by Blanch Browning. Myrene & mary went to Buddie Walkers Easter party. Dr operated on two apendixases and one other. Cleone & Avon out tonight. Arthur Fell was killed in auto accident. SUNDAY 31. A beautiful Easter morning. The girls Avon Cleone Myrene & Mary went to Sunday School. At two oclock this AM all clocks were set ahead one hr for the purpose of saving an hr of day light for work and conserving for the government. Dr took Pres Shurtliff down to the Tabernacle. Cleone & I went enjoyed the service very much. DO McKay was the speaker. The Oratorio by Theo Duboise was very fine. Thair is 14 today went eastering. |
