Show FRI. OCT. 18, 1918 Spent today in bed have had a cold for a few days. Sept Oct 19 Pres. Joseph F. Smith died today. No public service will be held owing to so much Influenza in S.L.C. He was dearly loved by his church people & we mourn loosing such a faithful man SATURDAY 19 Am feeling much better today. Have been out for a ride and sewed some this afternoon I have never seen a more beautiful Fall and never more sickness some 700 cases of Influenza reported in Ogden and many dying it seems like. Dr is almost to buisy to eat SUN. OCT. 20, 1918 Every thing being closed on account of Spanish Flu We are all home today but Dr and he has so much to do. I marvel at his standing the work night & day he goes. Has been fortunate not to lose only one case so far of Influenza Have some familys with five & six down. Cleone is here as Royal is hunting MONDAY 21 A nother beautiful day but Influenza still very bad and with in the past two weeks forty or more have died of it here in Ogden Mrs Oscar Madsen & little daughter Katherine were buried today little Josephine was buried last week the Nurse Mrs Alder also died today |
