Show FRI. AUG. 23, 1918 Can hardly realize that Cleone has gone from our home am buisy packing and fixing her cloths away which makes me feel very sad though I would not have it otherwise. She has always been a dear good girl and a great comfort to us. Oertel will have their room (Oertel & Cleones) back again until after the war. SATURDAY 24 Have spent all day at the Red Cross knitting rooms doing repair work. A wonderful lot of work is done in this Dept. We have five hundred pairs of sox to ship this week also one hundred sweaters SUN. AUG. 25, 1918 Avon Mary and Myrene went to Sunday school. Dr is quite buisy all day. Went for a Auto ride in the evening with Dr Oertel & the little girls. Wrote to mother. MONDAY 26 Have cleaned & arranged Thair the Blue room it is so cosy & nice next to my room for reasons. A letter from Mother. Oscar writes he will soon leave Wash D.C. for Foreign Lands. Oertel is real brave about it. |
