This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Moyle, first counselor to the Paey president of the Church of Jesus Christ | of Latter-day Saints, is a severe loss to : this’ state and city as well as to his church. | Mr. Moyle died in his sleep at a Florida ranch owned by the LDS Church, ap- | parently of a heart attack. He had suf- | ; fered a heart ailment for several years, but refused to let it interfere with his work supervising many of the church’s | : far-flung interests. HE WAS with in Florida in chaiedeion one such church concern, making avail-_ able land from part of the church ranch for a new Florida university. Within’ re- cent weeks he had made trips to Alaska and England on other church business. All this activity was the mark of a - most able and conscientious church official, whose past experience in the law and private business made him an excellent administrator of church affairs. Henry Moyle achieved eminence in three careers during his busy life. He was lawyer and a member of the - University of Utah law school faculty for ~ more than 25 years, He was a most sucwith businessman, extensive live- igs cessful stock and oil interests. And since his ap| pointment to the Council of Twelve Apos_ tles in 1947, he served his church in many a aoe ee a brilliant |. ; aye with distinction. He worked behind the scenes to further many civic and community improvements and took - great pride in Utah’s progress.
