THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL ECONOMY AND SOCIOLOGY Professor ECONOMICS 1,2. Economics. As a background for the study of the fundamental laws and principles underlying our modern economic institutions and life. a brief study is made of man's economic development. Modern economic life together with the principles governing men in their present day economic efforts is carefully analyzed and studied. Sufficient attention is devoted to special economic problems to serve as a foundation for more intensive study in advanced courses. Keir's "Industrial Organization," is used as the regular text, but extensive reading is required in Ely, Carver, Seager, Clay, Taussig and various other recognized authorities.
