During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show JANUARY SUNDAY 3 1892 A cold day: did not go to church. Ellerbeck and Croxall called on me. Wrote to William and Ella. Read news papers ect. Had discussion with Pressly on religion: Harover refined. Whytock and Lawrence called on me, but I was out for a walk and did not see them. 11 p.m. MONDAY 4 College opened in full blast. Received a nice letter from Ezra. Prof. Hare took the Clinic today. I attended the Academy of Surgeons of this city and heard an oration on The progress of Surgery in 1891 by Dr. Morton: Heard Dr. Nassau who has spent thirty years in Central Africa speak of the diseases found among the Natives of that country. 11.30 p.m. JANUARY TUESDAY 5 1892 College as usual. Sidewalks very slippery. Changed my boarding place to 1128 W. Pine St Ward got back this morning, from his Xmas visit home. It is snowing a little this evening. 11 p.m. WEDNESDAY 6 Snowed about three inches last night and has been a very disagreeable day. I attended college as usual I received a present from Mamie, a nice silk tie made by herself and of which I am very proud. 11.15 p.m. |
