OCTOBER SATURDAY 1 1892 Phila Attended a demonstration of the eye given by Dr. Brubaker at 9 a.m. A fine medical clinic by Meigs at Pennsylv Hos A fine surgical Clinic by Morton at Penn Hospital Come home to dinner and did not go back to the Surgical clinic at the Jeff. Bought a glass ect for my room No mail SUNDAY 2 Phila. Did not get up very early. Took a walk down to the Delaware after breakfast. Wrote to Mira in the afternoon or rather started a letter. Ward called in the afternoon and we had a pleasant chat. Ezra and Annie went down to the Academy of Fine Art. Completed my letter in the evening and retired. OCTOBER MONDAY 3 1892 Phila Received a letter from Mira this morning. Have read Surgery most of the day No lectures at college This evening at 8 oclock Prof. Hare gave the introductory lecture for the year. He did real well. Tomorrow morning college opens in full blast for the winter. There is a large attendance this year Is raining a little to night. TUESDAY 4 Phila College opened in full force this morning with a very large class. A very fine day Prof Kien gave his fist lecture on Surgery. Started on Surgical Bacteriology. Prof Hare and Montgomery gave thir first lectures to day.
