Gaskill, speaking at a Rotary club meeting Wednesday afternoon, introduced the newly organized Rotary girls chorus. New York Scene President Gaskill said that at the Rotary International convention in Madison Square Garden, New York City, last summer, he saw choirs and choruses which were most impressive. He came back with the urge to assemble whatever talent was available, both in and out of Rotary. He discussed the matter with Rotarians Vernon L. Ward and Heber C. Hancock and it was thought to be worthwhile. President Gaskill announced the girls will sing at a joint meeting of Kaysville and Bountiful Rotary clubs Feb. 1 at Davis county high school. Plans are under way to take the chorus to the Rotary district convention in Pocatello, Idaho. They would also sing to the student body assembly at Idaho State college. The chorus will be featured at the May meetings of the Ogden Surgical society and it is hoped it will have an opportunity to sing at several churches, President Gaskill said. Other Nationalities “We plan as time goes by we may have in the chorus girls of other nationalities so that it will truly be Rotary International,” he added.
