Show PUBLICATIONS There are three major publications on the Weber Campus at present; the Signpost, the College newspaper, Scribulus, campus literary Magazine, and the Acorn, Weber’s yearbook. There are opportunities for any college student desiring to try her journalistic skill to gain a position on the staff or at least contribute to these publications. Sharmea has since it’s birth been well represented on the various staffs of publications on the campus and feel confident that some of you as pledges and numbers will carry on the work. Editors: Signpost Billy Wright Advisor Lawrence Evans Scribulus Gordon Allred “ Cluster Nielson Yearbook (Undecided as to having one or not) WOMEN’S ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Women’s Athletic Association has been sponsored to govern the sports for girls. The games are always played on Friday afternoon from two to four. Volley Ball and Ping Pong will be played during the Fall quarter. Officers are: Dena Morelli; President, Jean Wilson; Secretary, Gloria Roe; Reporter, and Joanne Milner; Intramural Manager. The Vice President is always elected from the Freshman Class. The first games will be played in the early part of November and will continue on through the entire year. In the spring when all the activities have been completed and the points totaled W.A.A. sponsors a banquet and the high point girls will receive many honors. For the Team, there is a traveling trophy given to the high point team. There is many opportunities to have fun if you take advantage of them. We hope to see you on Friday Afternoon. If you are interested to be on the Council or a Sports Manager get in touch with one of the officers, and they will assist you on procedures to take. ASSOCIATED WOMEN STUDIES A group of representatives of the Women Students, representing each Social Club and the Independent students form a council, Associates Women Students. Officers are: Margaret Harbertson; President, Gerrie Reese; Vice President, and Patsy Pollard; Secretary. The function of this group is to create unity between clubs and independent girls. As a representative of the Women at Weber College in working for the benefit of the Woman Students at college. This council participates in many activities and sponsors many. They are in charge of a girl’s dance in November, the Thanksgiving dance, also an assembly keeping in the same theme. Also during Winter quarter they sponsor Charm Week, and a dance to end the week’s events. At the dance a “Most Preferred Man,” is chosen. There are other activities all of which will be announced. |
