Show Jerry Nebeker President and Speaker Bob Hunter President Pro-tempore Perry Perea Assistant President Dennis Heiner Parliamentarian Anne Benson Howard Collett Cheryl Lorenc Ron Parker DeVon Dahl Peggy Heffernan Tom Welch Cheryl Wunderlich Senate Recommends Convention The student Senate recommended a constitutional Convention be called to re-structure student government along with reorganization of the college's eight academic divisions into four schools. The convention was called by Student body President Jack Suttlemyre. Its decisions included Senate representation from academic schools, and establishment of an executive vice presidential position. Other major Senate action included the establishment of a new feature magazine and the annual budget hearings. Senators also requested a student activity fee increase of six dollars per student annually. Court Requests Powers A major reason for calling the constitutional convention was to broaden powers of the Supreme Court. In past years, the judicial body had only the power to rule on constitutional matters which were brought to them with a requested decision. The convention sought to give the court power over campus traffic violators and con-nection with the student standards committee. Two of the body's members, Winslow Hurst and F. L. Chase, were called to sit on the convention and insure the new power structure for the court. SUPREME COURT - Front Row: Advisor, Frank Telford; Nolan Archibald, Roger Simon, Gayland Jessen.
