Show arts and crafts The Arts and Crafts Committee sponsored three annual events as well as several special craft nights through the year. The committee consisted of Kae Lynn Allred, Kari Rae Benson, Barbara Skeen, and Karen Smith who led the entire association in making a float for Homecoming, decorating the Union Building for the Christmas Holidays, and sponsoring a photography contest in the spring. At Christmas they held a craft night for making cards and decorative candles; leather crafts and designs with crepe paper and plastics were also demonstrated. dance committee The Union Building Dance Committee sponsored all the Cogdill, Dixie Dornbos, Taylor Ellis, Ellen Fanning, Jan college dances. Besides the Coronation Ball and Home- Flynn, Dave Gladwell, Bryon Warfield-Graham, Marilyn coming, this year there were also a Winter and "Spring Hards, Greg Kemp, Kent Kofford, Rosie LaFeber, Sue Anticipation" Dinner Dance. Members were: Gerald Laerd, Shirley McDougal, Mary Moulton, Ann Patterson, Allen, Bob Barclay, Tim Blackburn, Burt Bohman, Tammy Mary Pettit, Patty Thomas, and Pam Tuttle. lectures committee The lectures committee led by Stephanie Davis, John Harte, Denny Osborn, Linda Sandlund, and Bill Washburn sponsored this year religious emphasis week, philosophy emphasis week, and Political Issues '68 on the election just before it was held. An added idea this year was the Departmental Days in which the campus departments were given a chance to discuss their career facilities and opportunities with interested students. films The Films Committee became even more active this year than ever before. Peter Galovan, Keith Murray, Kathy Sperry, Clayton Stauffer, and Terrel Timber headed this organization which showed a film each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 and 9:00. Among these were The Blue Max, Point Blank, and Divorce Italian Style. This year several excellent foreign films were viewed by the language students on campus and also, for the first time on our campus, a pre-world premier was shown. |
