Show greek festival The summer of 1968 saw the beginning of what the Weber State College theatre department intends as an annual event: the Festival of Greek Drama. The first summer's plays gave a taste of the wide range which can be covered in the future. The festival consisted of three plays: Trojan Women, one of Euripides' great tragedies; Aristophanes' Lysistrata, a comedy on the war between the sexes, and The Birds, one of his governmental satires. Carol Cook played the Mother waiting in her "sandbox" to die in the one act play The Sandbox. caught in the act Merril Barney appeared in one lead role in Abraham and Issac. In an unusual play called Charlie McDeath, Merril Barney and Bill Allred were seen. |
