Show Gail Lynett Forte February 5, 1951 ~ September 6, 2023 (age 72) Obituary Gail Lynett Forte (Mama Gail), 72, was called home September 6, 2023. She was born February 5, 1951, in Ogden, Utah to Roy Lee and Dora Mae Brown Forte. Growing up she spent time in Louisiana and moved to California where she graduated from LA High and there, she met Glenn Smith and gave birth a few years later to her twins Antonio and Antonette Smith. She later came back to Utah and had her daughter Shawnessy. She had many jobs over the years, Max Factor, IRS, snack bar manager at Hill Top Lanes Bowling Alley, a lunch lady for the Ogden School District and a night mail clerk at The Standard Examiner. Some of her fondest memories were at the bowling alley. She loved the league nights and was familiar with all the faces and food orders, and always loved the sound of a good strike. She loved music, binge watching a good show and Sunday bus trips to Wendove. It can be said that her favorite job and what she loved most was being a mom and a grandma. She was a natural caregiver who would always provide love, comfort, and food to those around. Gail was welcomed home by many family members including her mother and father, and received the biggest hug from her daughter Ann. Her memory is honored and carried on by her children, Antonio and Shawnessy and her grandchildren Matai (Shawnessy), Kavon, Hudson, Ameil (Antonio), her brother Burford Forte, sister Janet Forte and many more siblings, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Services will be held Wednesday, September 13th at 11am. The viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 12th from 6pm-8pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. |
