Show new miss wsc proclaimed; kristen hurst wins crown a 19-year-old | Kristen Jurst, sophomore, grabbed the Miss Weber State College queen title from ten other candidates last Saturday. . Miss Hurst, the daughter of Dean W. Hurst, director of college relations at WSC, is in French and is. majoring seeking a minor in theater arts. Miss Hurst’s as her talent. She is a music major. Miss Merrihew, a distributive education major and WSC cheerleader, had as her talent a combination floor exercise and gymnastic event on uneven parallel bars. -Miss Hurst will now be entered as Weber’s representative in the Miss Utah Pageant. The winner of that contest will represent Utah in the Miss America contest. school activities center in musical and theatrical programs. Annette Torman took the first attendant slot and Zona Merrihew was named second ‘attendant. The eleven contestants were judged on talent, poise, interviews, beauty of =e and face. Miss Hurst’s talent was an offering of two roles she had in WSC theater productions, ‘‘My Fair Lady,” and ‘Man of La Mancha.’”’ The songs she sang from those plays were ‘‘Just You Wait,’ and ‘‘What Does He Want of Me?” Miss Torman gave a piano rendition of ‘‘Rhapsody in Blue’ QUEEN AND ATTENDANTS of the Miss Weber State College contest are (I to r) Kristen Hurst, Miss Weber State College, Annette Torman, first attendant, and Zona Merrihew, second attendant.
