Show JUNIOR CLASS SPEECH WINNERS In the Junior class speech meet in May, the students participated in retold story, poetry, debate, and vital speech. Each student entering was given a rating of superior, excellent or good by the judges who were chosen from the Speech II and Play Production classes. A small stage for the use of the Speech I classes was constructed by Mr. T. L. Rowley and Michael Oborn in the Speech I room. This is to give students practical experience in stage work. This year there was a delightful evening of plays, readings, and retold stories. The Widow’s Plight directed by Sandra Thomas, Suppressed Desires directed by Michael Oborn, and Good-night Caroline” directed by Patsy Alger were the one-act comedies. Rose Holley gave a retold story, and Larry Blaylock and Carolyn Gould gave humorous readings. | Frokn beginning to end the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Ronald Plight.
