Show Miscellaneous With its purpose being t6 promote interest in and the conservation of natural resources, we again held our annual conservation contest. open to seniors only. The first place winners in the essay, poster, and speech divisions were: Sherma Stanger, Viola Siler. and John Creamer, respectively. SEMINARY OFFICERS and ADVISORS—Carl Smith. President; Mr. Eyre, Miss Chadwick, Mr. Heiner, Mr. Gunnell, Mary Lou Palmer, Vice President; Marjorie Peterson, Secretary. Among the activities of the L.D.S. Seminary were a party and dance held with the Box Elder Seminary students, and the annual graduation ceremonies at the Ogden Tabernacle on May 23. CONSERVATION CONTEST WINNERS—H. Higenbottom, Janet Stallings, Barbara Wangsgard, Sherma Stanger, Paul Farber, Max Smith, John Creamer, Viola Siler, Ann Brown, Advisors Mr. Hadlock and Mr. Russell. STATE JAVELIN WINNERS—Claude first; Brent Thomas, third. Weber High’s tracksters, capitalizing winners at the State meet. Kent Jones takes first place in the 880-yard dash at the State track meet. Roy Hassell followed in third place. The 880-yard place. run saw Kent Jones Blanch, in two second; events, Sonny became finish first with Roy Watson third Hassell place in third Val Christensen ran second in the 440-yard run and Ronnie Hales second in the broad jump and tied for fifth in the high jump. took |
