These pictures serve as a record of graduates and present students which is of interest for future reference. Besides exchanging school papers, the exchange editors make up a column for each issue of the paper. It consists of interesting items found in the incoming papers. Our exchange department receives papers from most states, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Morgue editor, Audrey Evans; handbook staff member, Marilyn Dearden; exchange editor, Phyllis Anderson; and Lorraine Corry, editor handbook, “So This is Weber.” TE: If you have been puzzled as to how the news of Weber High reaches the commercial papers, you may be surprised to find that these two junior girls are always on the go, getting information and writing stories to send to a paper. As seniors next year, they will train two more journalists to carry on with the job. Important to any organization is its history. Weber High's history is not complete as it was not kept from the beginning so the staff this year did a lot of research as well as keeping day to day records. Morgue editor for next year is Sharon Price. Also members of junior staff are Barbara Cook, news notes co-editor; Edwinna Jo Berryman, historian; and Joanne Stanger, news notes coeditor. To provide a helpful guide to the rules and regulations of Weber High is the main purpose of our handbook, “So This is Weber.” As special features, the editors often provide class and club officers, the school song and hymn, scheduled events for the year, a list of coming games, and historical events. The junior Scripto staff helps to prepare at least one issue of our literary magazine each year. Their job is to promote creative writing and to edit and prepare stories for publication. JUNIOR SCRIPTO STAFF MEMBERS—Betty Andrews, handbook; Beverly Boehme, Scripto; Janice Taylor, Bonita Peterson, future handbook editor; Sandra McIntire and Sandra Thomas, Scripto. 109 |
