It is the purpose of this course to acquaint normal students with the scope of public school music. Rote singing, ear training, monotones, music appreciation, folk dancing, will be studied. Prerequisite, sight singing. Spring quarter. Two credit hours. 3. History of Music. Prerequisite: Sight reading or a year's private study on voice or instrument. This course covers the development of music down to Bach, and lives of composers down to our present time. Twice a week. Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters. Four credit hours. Professor Manning. 4. Elementary Harmony. Prerequisite: Sight reading or a year's study of instrument. This course consists of a study of scales and chords and analysis of easy compositions. Three hours a week.
