Illustration. A course designed to give practice in representational drawing, to include perspective and light and shade. Perspective includes a study of linear perspective value, perspective, and color perspective with direct and angular perspective. Light and shade include a study of light and shade applied to the representational of three dimensional objects including still life. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Collett, Strong 52. Illustration. A course designed to give practice in figure drawing and still life drawing. Figure drawing includes the study and analysis of the human machine with reference to action and structure. Still life drawing includes intermediate drawing of subjects by means of dark and light pattern. Five quarter hours. Winter. Collett, Strong 53. Illustration. A course designed to give practice in principles of design and color, and landscape sketching. Design and color include a study of the principles of design and the theory of color. Landscape sketching includes sketching out-of-door subjects, foliage, architecture, mountains, etc., and a study of composition. Five quarter hours. Spring. Collett, Strong -127 54. Illustration. A course designed to give practice in figure drawing, pictorial structure, oil painting, and water color. Figure drawing includes rapid sketching and anatomical study of the human figure. Pictorial composition includes arrangement of subject material in pictures. Oil painting and water color painting includes painting the costumed figure, and still life. Five quarter hours. Autumn. Figure drawing includes drawing from life, and rapid sketching. Oil painting and water color painting include pictorial costumed figure in oils and water color. A course designed to give practice in illustration, figure drawing, illustration in oil, water color, and black and white media, magazine layout, and advertising design. Five quarter hours. Spring.
